The Yuma Ammonia Safety Day Committee will hold its eighth annual safety day on February 16, 2012. This community outreach event brings to attendees greater ammonia awareness including both its benefits and hazards. We hosted more than 215 attendees in 2011, all of whom received important and practical knowledge about ammonia, and we anticipate more this year.

In 2012 we plan to run a scenario to demonstrate the dynamics that are in play during a release, and what response actions are most effective in resolving problems caused by accidental releases.  This year we offer afternoon workshops that provide focused instruction for Managment, Operating Personnel and, First Responders.

The purpose of  the Yuma Area Ammonia Safety Day is to provide individuals with the opportunity to receive information and training from agencies and safety professionals; to network with  professionals who are experts in their fields; and to develop relationships with vendors and others from the entire arena of the ammonia industry.

There is no fee to attend the Safety Day; however, we ask that all attendees register on line in order for us to provide teaching materials and handout folders, as well as breakfast and lunch.
